Welcoming 2018
By January 1, 2018
onWelcome to 2018. A year of possibilities and hope.
As 2017 fades in the rear view mirror I am going to be making a concerted effort on several fronts to ensure that this year is better than the last and paves the way for many more good years in the future.
On the professional front, you are looking at it. I have been working on reviving my consulting brand, The Data You Need, and as of January 1st, it is officially up and running and ready to take on some clients. I plan to begin with after hours and weekend availability and hopefully I can begin to help some companies out.
On the physical health front I plan to continue working on existing health issues as well as implementing dietary and exercise changes to start pulling that under control. I have repeatedly tried, and failed, on the last point so this year I plan to be more transparent about my trials and tribulations, my successes and my failures, in the hopes that by throwing them out there I will be more likely to fight through and make the necessary changes. I may even engage a personal fitness coach to help hold me accountable when I stray from the path. Basically use it or lose it except referring to life.
On the mental health front I plan to relax a bit in 2018. 2017 was basically one long stretch of the most stressful period in my life for a number of reasons. I found myself mentally shut down by it at times. No longer. While a lot of the things that stressed me out in 2017 still persist, I have plans in place to address the things I think I can. So while I think 2018 will end up being a busier year than 2017 I am hoping it will be less stressful. I will be taking time to let my creative side roam free through creative outlets such as Lycan Subscribe, streaming at www.twitch.tv/JeffRushTDYN, relearning how to play guitar, or even just reading for pleasure again.
With so much planned I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you.
Here’s to 2018. A year of possibilities and hope.
